Today, we went to a retirement home for horses with our church Youth Group! Everyone had a blast!
It only cost two carrots per person to get in and it was a beautiful and huge piece of land that we were able to wander around.
The kids were able to run and play and feed the horses as they went. We brought tons of carrots and apples to feed to them. All the horses were very gentle and happy to be fed.
Afterward, we went to a nearby park and had a nice picnic lunch together. More running and playing for the kids and talking time for the parents who came.
In case you are searching for some things to do with your children that is cheap and fun, search for a retirement home for horses in your area. We drove about two hours one way to get there – but, even the drive was part of the fun.
